I went to see my Dad, and ended up mowing his lawn, as he has a bum knee. He wants my brother and me to go to the Scottish Games with him. He filled me in on some of our hereditary responsibilities. If the Campbell Clan starts trouble, we have to locate and stand with the MacAlpine Clan, who are the True Kings of Scotland. We come from a small clan, but as the motto on our coat of arms, "The Arms Of The King" states, we have traditionally always defended the King of Scotland. If you read Sir Walter Scott's "Lady Of The Lake", Sir Roderick Drue is of our Clan.

The Campbells are not just a large, powerful, very terrible and much hated clan, but our historical enemies. My Dad impulsively boo'ed them as they were parading one year, but admits now that was a little foolhardy.

They're playing "Unforgettable", that duet with Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole, on Channel 9. It's amazing, how well that's done, how well their voices blend together.

I've been riding my bike this weekend, and stopped at a farmer's market searching for sour cherries for a beer recipe something like a Belgian Lambric. One of the guys took me around to various stalls to taste cherries. Next Sunday, I'll buy about 10 lbs of sour yellow Ranier cherries, and make a fruit beer. Later, in a few weeks, I'll buy some plums, and make a plum wine, as well.
