Talk To Me
May. 4th, 2004 08:44 pmThe Jury assembly room has internet access. There about 200 of us sitting here, waiting for the show to start.

One poor women became hysterical when she arrived in the jury assembly room, and was sobbing uncontrollably for some time, and finally, thank God, she was ushered out. Obviously, a person on the edge, and the stress of being summoned to jury duty completely unhinged her
*******************
About 60 of us have been sent to a particular courtroom for jury selection. I'm still waiting here, entertained by only linking insults from the fanboy in my Donald Trump community. At least I can have the satisfaction of firing him, again and again, without limit.
********************
I was sent to courtroom 2B, a few doors from room 2M, where the Scott Peterson murder trial is being heard. My trial involved a guy charged with selling crank and attempted manslaughter of two South San Francisco cops. From what I could gather the DA wanted to invoke the "three strikes" law and put this guy away for life. The judge read an exhaustive list of witnesses, and we potential jurors had to indicate if we knew any of them. One lady, sort of a blown out latina, knew a number of the people involved, and when the judge asked her about her specific relationship to one witness she said she couldn't say publicly. She was released. Eventually I was, too, and I have now done my civic duty.
