The forecast is for 95 degree temperatures tomorrow. I work in a metal building without a/c, and I try to control the heat by keeping all the doors and windows on the east side closed until noon, and then opening everything up and cranking the little fan to maximum. The trick is to wear t-shirts and short pants, drink quarts of water, and stay in the shade. It will be beastly hot (over 100 degrees) in places like Livermore, 10 miles to the east of me. Even that's not quite like being in the Mohave desert, where people die in the summer heat when their cars break down.
Editor's note: About 3PM PST, the Yahoo internet weather gage reported the local temperature as being 96 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep in mind, that Robby was in an oppressive metal building, and the previously mentioned little fan seemed only to be blowing hot air and making things more uncomfortable. He almost bailed, but then, miraculously, the temperature began dropping, and he was able to withstand the inclement weather until 4:15.
