Duke "Rape" Case Revisited
Jun. 16th, 2007 03:57 pmDoes anyone else remember the LJ uproar when the Duke University Lacrosse team was accused of gang-raping an African American sex worker?
Remember the hate and vitriol spewed out on LiveJournal against these "privileged white frat-boys"? Some of you were howling for their castration.
It turns out that that woman was a liar, who, even earlier, had made similar false accusations. She made up the rape story so the police would take her to the hospital rather than the drunk tank, and when examined at the hospital she DID had DNA from 2 or 3 men inside of her, but none of the semen matched the Duke lacrosse players.
Next time something like this comes down, don't be so quick to trot out your twisted prejudices and misconceptions.
