A Bear Of A Wednesday
Jan. 29th, 2009 09:57 amI spent the whole day Wednesday, until 8:30PM, repacking, loading, moving and unloading all the rest of the ceramic molds. I used a 9X12 UHAUL trailer, and probably overloaded it, because the brakes were really touchy, they seemed ready to flip the trailer. It took 2-1/2 hours to drive the 75 miles back, but it's good that traffic was slow, because of the brake problems with the trailer.
I ran out of steam a few times as I was re-packing the heavy plaster molds, but finished eventually, so all's well that ends well.
I now have all the molds for "The Americas Series" of ceramic pre-Columbian art reproductions. A newspaper page used in the original packing indicates that these have been in storage for 20 years. I vaguely recall seeing the series advertised in the 70's, and little did I know it would someday be mine, all mine....
