Mechanical Update.
Feb. 2nd, 2009 07:15 amMy girlfriend considers me her zero-cost plumber, and she wanted a new kitchen faucet. The problem was getting the old one off. I had two elegant plans, A & B to remove the big hex nut underneath holding the faucet to the sink, but they did not suffice. Plan C was to bash and break the old faucet off from the top, using a claw hammer and chisel. Once I started smacking and wailing on the old faucet, there was no turning back. It took hours and was difficult and violent, but I finally got it off and the new one installed, luckily without breaking the sink or any kitchen tile. A real plumber would have laughed at me, busting and pounding the old faucet off like that.
