Technology Update

I've renewed my subscription to Popular Mechanics even though I haven't cared much for the articles. They preview new cars, and have shallow pop articles that you might expect from Good Housekeeping. I know magazines in general are really hurting, but they panic and offer me the magazine at $1/issue when I don't renew.

At the CES, magicJack has unveiled a new device that connects to a computer with broadband and lets you make and receive free internet phone calls from home with an existing cell phone. The cell carriers are really pissed about this.
