The chain drug stores and supermarkets are finally advertising that they have the H1N1 flu vaccine, but isn't this latest wave of sickness about over? I could already have natural immunity. The government/industrial complex screwed the pooch on this one. If swine flu had been virulent, millions could have died as they didn't have the vaccine ready when it was needed.
Last night I was watching a two hour History channel show that detailed how to survive the collapse of civilization. The premise was that a paramedic and his family in LA survived some deadly flu that killed most people, and dramatized week by week, their eventual escape from LA, surviving the Mohave desert until they made it to a small town in Nevada that took them in.
It was well done, and covered subjects such as robbing the dead, eating domestic pets, and the dangers of feral children. It showed moments of selfless consideration, and talked about how some people rise to the occasion. The paramedic stopped at one point to treat a badly injured man, and this man survived and later in turn, saved the paramedic and his family.
