Mar. 4th, 2010 03:54 pmI had fun with the last of the tree trimming. It's a beautiful day and these last trees were not as large. I had to use a ladder, but not climb so high as on Monday. One tree once had a treehouse in it; I noticed the old nails and remnants of rope and realized the configuration of that tree would be perfect to build a little house. While I was trimming I was considering the aesthetic of the tree. Clearing lower branches and new shoots, and small branches that cross in the center of the tree, as well as the dead wood, and balance the shape of the tree while trimming any branches that extend over the roof. It's something like flower arranging or sculpture, but on a big scale. I was finessing it until I got so tired I was shaky on the ladder.
