I saw a good sized snake crossing the road near the southwest corner of my lot, but by the time I got closer to gingerly look around, it was nowhere to be found. I never got a good look, but my impression is that it was a benign rodent eating sort of snake.

I'm down to just two developing avocados on my little Zutano tree, but even that is good. I've read of people having trees for years that never bear fruit. My vegetables have gone crazy with the warmer days and deep watering.

My cat is on the same watering schedule as the avocado trees, and today I picked up a new liter bag of saline for her. I had called ahead, but it wasn't ready when I arrived, and the vet's assistant didn't read the chart carefully and initially brought out the wrong stuff. The vet didn't bother to come out and speak to me. This is the vet that told me that there was no hope eight weeks ago, when I declined hospitalization and thousands of dollars in treatment costs.

The cats doing well and is eating lots and has put on weight. She grooms herself and walks around the house normally. She was just sitting on the couch with me and we were watching a PBS documentary about Arctic bears. She really watches animals on TV, I don't know if other cats do that.
