I gave her a dose of water this morning, It went a little quicker with the bigger needle, but she was struggling at the end, and the needle came out before I was altogether done. I only guesstimate the volume and draw lines on the bag of saline to guide me. After we were done, she ate and groomed herself and her breathing seems normal. It's been over an hour, which from little I know, is past the point where excess fluid will build up around her heart and trigger a heart attack. Tomorrow will mark ten weeks that I've been doing this.

After she is hydrated she sleeps more and seems to have very vivid dreams. I remember my Dad talking out his dreams as he was dying.

The summer squash are ripening rapidly. You see them doubling is size overnight. They're really good, and I'll eat what I can, give away some, and dry the rest. I've got lots of lettuce as well. Today and tomorrow are supposed to be hot, approaching 100 degrees, so I'm going to stay under cover and not work out there.
