Ceramics Update

I've started moving tons of plaster molds from work into an extra bedroom at home. I'm about 25% done, and already my back is hurting. I spent the afternoon setting up tall wheeled metal racks to store them. I need to carefully inventory each piece as it arrives, because I have a big puzzle to put together. Often they are marked with a production number that I can reference in the old catalog, or I can figure out the production number through the name marked on the mold, or I can identify the molds through pictures in the catalog. Each mold can be a number of interlocking parts, and over time the parts were sometimes packed into separate boxes. I also need to be clear which are production molds and which are master molds.

By October 17, I want to finish moving the molds and also set up 2 sections of warehouse racking in the garage.

10/5 Minh and I disassembled two warehouse racks tonight, and I brought back home a second load of molds. I'm tired, so I left the molds in the truck, and will unload them into the garage tomorrow morning. The racks I will bring home tomorrow, after I get one of those red flags to tie to a long load. Have I mentioned that I need to cut down the steel uprights so they'll fit in the garage? I've got a reciprocating saw, some cutting oil, and a new pack of metal blades for that part of the project. I'll start that on Thursday. I think I've found the flat composite board sheets that will fit between the crossbeams and make shelves. I'm going to try to trade some scrap circuit boards to a work neighbor for about 6 big sheets. I'll give myself one brownie point if I get them for barter and don't have to buy them retail. I'm getting sore and tired with this new push of mine, but I feel its past time to move forward on this new business.
