I've realized that I'm living in the center of California's heaviest, soaking winter fog belt. You never know when, or if it will burn off. I would like to complain about this, but I don't know who to call.

It's dangerous to drive in this fog, and I'm going to stay home today, to install a dryer, to finish the last of the wood chipping, and dig an earth basin under the almond tree. It's always a struggle for me to go out and get started in the gloom, but once I actually get going, it's not so bad.

Part of digging the basin will be moving gravel from the side yard to out near the road, I have plenty of gravel for some low spots out there, but moving it is the trick. This will be the last chipping of the season, and I've now paid for the little used chipper in saved rental fees.

All this manual labor is hard on the body, and I'm trying to take aspirin, rather than Celebrex. Some recent studies have slammed the NSAID drugs as being too dangerous. Celebrex never was that effective for me, anyway.

The dryer installation was most excellent, while the tree basin is crude, but serviceable. I'll flood it on Thursday, and slowly refine it over time. I managed to finish half the chipping and walk the dog before sunset. My body is thrashed, und now I must lie on the couch for a while, and rest. I give myself an A- for the day.
