Fall Garden Update
Sep. 23rd, 2011 02:24 pmIt ws hot today, with a high of 99 degrees F. My bush snap beans were troubled with white flies, so I sprayed them with neem oil. I'll give them another spray tomorrow. For good measure, I also sprayed the peppers and the lemon and avocado trees.
The squash and aubergines seem worn out, and I won't expect too much more from either of them. They are both still flowering, so they could surprise me, however.
I'm thinking about a winter garden. I might plant green onions in the tomato bed, bulb onions in the western bed, and lettuce, broccoli and peas in the northern bed. I should pick up a load of animal manure and deep till it into the soil first.
