Harvest Update
Oct. 3rd, 2011 06:50 amThis morning, I'll pick all the tomatoes with any color and bring them in to fully ripen. Rain is coming, and the commercial growers are picking all of theirs, but I think it's because they can't get heavy equipment into fields that are muddy.
The grape harvest is also continuing at a frantic pace, ahead of the rain. Next year. I'll carefully plan, and buy some grapes to make wine. This year, I have too many irons in the fire, and my knee is still wanky.
The hot peppers are red and ripe. I've been picking hundreds and drying them indoors, with a food dehydrator, The house smells of them, but it's not a bad odor.
