Steve Jobs' Other Company
Oct. 6th, 2011 11:28 amIn the late 90's, I was buying large amounts of surplus neXT monitors as Steve Jobs' defunct neXT was being liquidated. We were able to tune them to the Apple Macintosh video spec and sell them to Mac users. I passed on many neXT computers, that could be had for a song. I talked to people and nobody considered them valuable. I thought they were charming anachronisms, but I wish now that I had bought a load of neXT cubes, and just put them away. I was smart enough to grab a few very early Apple computers, and a bizarre early 8088 pc, built like a suitcase, and called a transportable. Who knew that those neXT cubes would ever be collectible and quite valuable?
