I've come up with a training technique for Pogi. He's pretty good on one section of the morning walk, and I still let him run there, but maintain voice control and keep him within 50 yards. He listens to me within that range and I praise him when he stays on course. Pogi is quite the fierce little guy. This morning, as we were passing what I think of as the crankster house, with locked gates and six dogs, a big rottweiler jumped the fence and came at us. Halo, who is my big alpha dog, didn't react, but little Pogi snarled and lunged at the rottweiler, and backed that big dog away from us.

My priority is to get the kiln set up, and I did figure out why the baso valve shut off after a few minutes. The new thermocouple was bad, but I probably damaged it myself by letting it get too hot. I've replaced it so now that problem is solved. The new pyrometer is also defective. I've been testing it, but finally noticed that a resistor on the back has broken loose. I'm going to try to fix that Tuesday, at work. I'm going to put the small nozzle back into the front burner today, and the when it's dark, adjust the burner to get a hot blue flame. These notes are boring, but they're becoming useful. I went back and read an earlier post to recall which nozzle was used for the most successful firing.

Once I finish the preliminary wrenching on the kiln manifold, I'm planning later today, on roto-vating the north garden bed, and also excavating a bit more in the basin around the almond tree.

A little cat is now around and about in the garden. From the color, I would say it's descended from the animal hoarding lady's cats. It seems feral, and I don't think I will try to befriend it.
