Paving Project
Dec. 1st, 2011 02:52 pmI'm planning the walkway, and have started by pulling out pavers* from a circular driveway in the front of the house. The driveway couldn't support the weight of a vehicle, and now I see why. No foundation was ever put under the driveway. Even with my walkway, that is required, and a load-bearing driveway takes quite a bit of engineering.
So far, I've got 180 of the 6' X 9" pavers and 65 of the 6" X 6 " size. I need to pave about 180 square feet, so I'm almost half-way there.
When I design my paving, I need it such that rolling carts can move smoothly through doors, and plan a slope in the walkway, so water will flow away from the house. The garage door has a concrete pad, so I'll need to set the pavers in mortar there.
