Moving Ornamentals
Feb. 25th, 2012 11:37 amI dug out and transplanted a bush and a small tree, and that is enough pick-and-shovel work for one day.

Finished this Sunday afternoon. The final bush was difficult, with a complicated root sytem, and so large that I couldn't lift it, once it was out of the ground. It even had an old bird's nest in it.
I did get everything transplanted, and made an effort to help them survive the trauma. That corner now looks bare, and the next steps will be to put up a chain link fence to keep out the dogs, and also an underground chicken wire fence, to keep out the gophers.
