Farm Report May 14
May. 14th, 2012 04:43 pmI tilled the new bed, mixing in some compost and transplanted six Brandywine tomato plants. I have the plants inside of wire cages, buried about 2 feet deep, as gophers frequent the area. It was a huge amount of work fencing off, and preparing this new bed, and very soon I'll install drip irrigation.
My Jalapeno peppers are sprouting indoors, and I'll start the eggplant seeds tonight. With all this extra room, I'll have the luxury of growing some Anaheim peppers this summer, as well.
The newest lettuce is up, and the yellow onions are flowering.
