My almond defense seems to be working, the crows and magpies are smart and wary, and stay away. I've still got lots of developing almonds. The Greek oregano is established and spreading in the rock garden. It took me about four tries to get oregano growing.

I have germination issues with the eggplant seeds, which are a year old. The first batch is just now sprouting, and I also planted a second indoor batch, and finally spread all the remaining seeds in wet paper towels. I want to get ten seedlings asap, to plant in the new bed. The tomatoes are in the ground and the jalapeno peppers have sprouted, so this new bed will be peppers, tomatoes and eggplant, maybe 20 plants total, each fed with it's own drip line. I flood the other three beds, but this new bed will be a high-tech marvel.

My peas are sputtering and headed for a summer demise, and this second variety didn't bear as heavily as the hybrid variety that I planted last year.
