Agricultural Update On May 31
May. 31st, 2012 11:32 amWe're beginning a mini-heat wave, with today's high forecast to reach 97. The garden is suitably watered, and I have shaded the Stewart avocado tree. The Zutano has been shaded for months. Both trees look healthy, but I'm disappointed that I saw alsolutely no flowering this season.
When this heatwave is over, I'll try to pick up a big load of manure, so I'll have plently of compost ready when the onions come out, and I plant summer squash. The second row of beans is up, anmd I'll put some jalapeno pepper plants out soon. The eggplant are sprouting somewhat. Four are up, but I would like ten.
