Life On The Farm
Aug. 6th, 2012 08:11 pmI picked my first tomato today. I'm watering well in preparation for four days of beastly hot weather. Pogi, over the course of days, managed to bring home an animal skull. He would carry it for a half mile or so, and then drop it, and pick it up again the next day. Now he's got it in the wolf compound that I call a front yard, where he can gnaw it and gloat over it.
The new project is installing the rain water tank. It will weigh 1600 lbs when full, and must be elevated so gravity can provide water pressure, and bolted to a concrete footing. I will use the steel legs off an industrial workbench, but I need to improvise a saddle to connect to the raised supports and hold the tank.
