Ceramic Update

I glazed and fired some figures today,but the kiln must have been too hot. What was supposed to be matte, came out glossy, and two of the pieces were bare of glaze in spots, with the underglaze shading shriveled. I'm going to try again tomorrow, and build the shelves in a different pattern, which might allow for more even heat, and put a range of  cones in various spots to gage the temperature.

New OS

I'm downloading Windows 8 Pro right now, so let's see how easy this will be. I'm going to let the program re-format the drive and do a clean install of the 64-bit version, and then burn an installation DVD. It's only $40, and they're throwing in the new Media Center software.

Nothing's ever easy. I have the 32-bit version, which downloaded by default, and must wait until Wednesday to get the 64-bit version.

I like Windows 8. It's really fast, and took all of two minutes to learn. I'm glad I built this new system, and will be getting cutting edge software, including Media Center for next to nothing. I find myself scrolling through reams of web content too fast, a problem I've never had before.
