A Typical Saturday
May. 25th, 2013 09:02 amI foraged a broken patio table from the side of the road, and am going to experiment by making a concrete top for it, with an eye to doing all my kitchen counters in concrete. Don't think grey industrial concrete, it's really amazing how beautiful it can look.
My ersatz neighbor was foraging for nopales paddles this morning. He's a derelict who's living in, and guarding the house being remodeled next door. The house doesn't have power, water or electricity or garbage service, and the guy is tossing his filth over the fence, sometimes onto my property. Big plastic vodka bottles and underwear he's crapped in. He speaks English as well as I speak Spanish. I gave him some drinking water. The feral chickens are probably at risk from this guy.
Pogi caught a bird this morning, and shortly after, a gopher. He insisted on carrying both on our morning walk, but dropped them after about a mile, when he started chasing rabbits.
