We've had our first cold winter storm, and I saved lots of water for the poor struggling avocado tree. The cooler weather is spelling the end for many summer crops, starting with eggplant. I need to pick the last of them, and then start clearing the plants from the garden. I'll keep just the one that's got a big yellow eggplant that will make next year's seed. I want it to be uber mature before I pick it. I have a huge, hard yellow squash that is also going to seed.

I'm still picking both Roma and Brandywine tomatoes, but finding just enough for immediate needs; my canning is finished. The new pole beans are flowering, and I'll probably have a month or more of late beans. Lots of red peppers, a few more yellow squash, and lots of winter squash ripening.

I'm banging up my body with all this ceramics and shed construction, and feeling twinges in both my knee and back. I'm taking naproxen for pain, and trying to be mindful of re-injuring those body parts.

I'm learning internet marketing and SEO and such, for my new web site. Trying to set up link exchanges and refining my pictures and text and key words.
