There is an app that decodes hand motion with 83% accuracy. If someone is nearby, wearing one, they can grab your security code. In San Francisco, there is a movement to ban these sorts, especially from bars, where they can secretly record other people socializing. The pejorative name for these people is "Glassholes".

When I was a little boy, I was whistling on the way to school when a mockingbird began copying me. I stopped, and for a few minutes it copied every song that I whistled.

Fast-forward 40 years, and now collared doves are living in trees all around the house. A few years ago, they spoke perfect Latin, calling "e plemista". Then A Dark Age descended on dove civilization, and the call degraded. It's still four syllables, but not clearly annunciated. Yesterday, one was calling outside the open window, and I answered back with my best version of the original call. Surprisingly, the dove answered, slowing improving until it again spoke perfect Latin. I heard it today, and it's still using the original call.

In other news, I've started on the fence project, and just in time, because the old fence is looking very shaky.

The yellow squash is planted, and the first tomatoes have begun to ripen. I still have nine eggplant in the garden, and they've begun flowering. A heat wave is forecast for next week.
