Lawns are sort of an anachronism, especially in hot climates. I've noticed around here that it's the white people that have lawns. Sort of cultural tribute to an European tradition.

I'm lucky to be in a place where feral Bermuda grass establishes itself when you water and mow. It's really tough and propagates with creeping tendrils. That's a good thing considering what Pogi does to the lawn when he hears an underground gopher.

They've finding fossils of flightless dinosaurs that show evidence of feathers, maybe for insulation and/or display. It's sort of cool that we still have large carnivorous, feathered, bipedal creatures running around. Not exactly dinosaurs, but close.
