Coyotes

We took our walk early, in advance of a storm, and Halo pointed out two large coyotes along the creek. He did a guarding behavior and went out a short distance between us and the coyotes and watched them as they were gliding away.

I'm reading that Halo's breed has a certain component of American Indian dog and even coyote. Some Indians scoff at the name "Australian Shepherd", and say that's just a white man's name for an American Indian dog.
