Nov. 9th, 2014 03:17 pmIt's 79F right now, and I just finished mowing all over. It may be the last big mowing of the year.
The husky next door has been getting out, and I've brought him back 3 times. I hope the kids can figure out a solution, otherwise he quite possibly will come to a bad end. Pogi gets excited and always jumps the fence when I bring that dog home. It might be a combination of him being insecure when I interact with another dog, or maybe Pogi wants to assert his dominance. He did some preliminary token fighting with the dog, but they both stopped it when I yelled at them. That's the difference between a normal dog and a pit bull. A normal dog has limits and controls about aggression, and both Pogi and the Husky reacted within a rigid social context.
I finished fermenting next year's eggplant seeds and they're drying. Fermenting seeds is simulating the steps when a fruit falls to the ground and rots. It increases the viability of the seeds. I dearly love the Japanese eggplant that I've been growing, and I want to perfect the skills to grow a lot of it.
