Aftermath Of Violence
Nov. 12th, 2014 06:26 amPoor Pogi was low-key most of the day, after his fight with the pit bull. I didn't see blood or injuries, but there's no question the experience was traumatic. We've been attacked at least 7 times over the years, and while Pogi is my smaller dog, he's the one that goes toe to toe with the bad dogs.
I helped him, by pepper spraying the pit bull dead on before the worst of the fight, and that may have saved Pogi.
I also went out and bought a new canister of pepper spray, so we're locked and loaded if there's a next time. We also drove around the neighborhood, but didn't see that dog. I might go on the internet a buy a can of bear spray, instead of this personal defense pepper spray. I want to be able to soak an advancing dog from the maximum distance.
Encountering these bad pit bulls is probably the most dangerous thing I've done in my life. I've talked to the sheriff's deputies about them, and they advise carrying pepper spray, and promise to patrol more.
