Slowly Relearning Modern Technology
Dec. 19th, 2014 06:32 amI was struggling with trying to read Microsoft Word files, with extensions of .docx, and edit Word data tables. First, I tried Apache Open Office, which is really NOT compatible, then I dragged out my cds with ancient versions of Microsoft Word, which couldn't do the job, either.
What I finally discovered, is that modern Microsoft Word is available free, online, and documents that are moved on the Microsoft Cloud (called One Drive), can be read and edited.
It's funny, but I'm having to relearn how to do things, using 21st century technology. The old 20th century way, with buying and loading software programs on a hard drive is over.
