Shoppers thronged grocery stores across Caracas today as deepening shortages led the government to put Venezuela’s food distribution under military protection.

Long lines, some stretching for blocks, formed outside grocery stores in the South American country’s capital as residents search for scarce basic items such as detergent and chicken.

I've just started reading American Elsewhere

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/14781178-american-elsewhere

Pogi has a new outlet, where I let him jump the fence into my own side yard, and there he can dig for gophers to his heart's content.

I'm pretty nice to my dogs, and I want them to be happy and well adjusted. Pogi needs an outlet for his energy and hunting drive, so we've agreed this is an acceptable compromise.

I'm stripping lemons from the tree and bottling pure lemon juice. Supposedly, it will last a couple years, but I'll make it into lemonade this summer.

I'll be planting onion seed soon, and I need to work compost into te south garden bed.
