Patriot's Day
Sep. 11th, 2015 11:11 amIt's 9/11, what people are now calling "Patriot's Day", and I can't help but notice the media and politicians talking around the attack 14 years ago. It's all misdirection and platitudes. A kid listening to the tributes would have no idea of what really happened.
This will be the last day of our heatwave, and we've been having record setting hot temperatures. I went out for a minute when it was 108F, and honestly, it didn't feel so bad. I wonder if we can register the differences when it gets above 100F. It could have been deceptively dangerous, but I didn't get the feeling of overwhelming heat.
The dogs and I stay in during the heat of the day, and I run my swamp cooler. It works really well in hot dry climates, and doesn't use as much electricity as an air-conditioner.
We still walk, but at dawn and sunset. The wild vegetation is sure getting blasted, but I manage to keep my property watered.
My media pc failed, but I can fix it. A replacement power supply is in transit.
In other news, I'm reading "Kafka On The Shore" by Haruki Murakami.
