My Current State Of Being
Jul. 9th, 2016 10:55 amI gave a good interview on Friday, and if these interviews never translate into a teaching job, I'll still be able to honesty say that I've done my best.
A semi-feral cat is living here now. I've started feeding her, and two local cat ladies were feeding her previously. They have a name for her, and I'll ask when I see them. It might be "Patches". I hope Halo won't mind the cat being around.
On our morning walk we go past the pack of dogs that the dog hoarder has now accumulated. The largest one, and probably the pack leader, likes me, and always nuzzles my hand. We have right of passage, and I think Halo likes the tension of being challenged, and dutifully pees to underscore his neighborhood reputation. There is also a huge hundred pound male Great Pyrenees that we see fairly often. I warn him not to hurt my dog, and he never has.
The goat that we see in the afternoon is especially friendly towards me, and likes me to rub it's head. Halo likes to visit it, but goats are probably more sympathetic towards humans than dogs.
I transferred most of the new apple cider into a secondary fermenter. I added a cut up watermelon, some sugar and lemon juice to what cider was left in the primary. It will eventually become apple-watermelon wine.
