One thing remarkable about Halo is how he's ready to work. The work is a daily patrol of our territory in the heart of coyote country. We walk in about a mile in and then back. Halo has strong herding genes and instinct. He walks a distance ahead of the other three of us once he's off leash. He likes when I give him commands from a distance. The commands are "stay with me" "turn back" and "stop". This whole scenario resonates with him because it's akin to what his breed has been doing for untold generations.
