Gardening Update
Oct. 2nd, 2020 10:49 pmIt's been in the high 90's and smoky, and that is kind of oppressive. I haven't been doing extra projects, beyond the normal daily routine.
Starting Sunday, it should cool down, and I should feel more ambitious.
I'm testing the butternut squash for hardness, as a clue to start picking. It may be a month or more. I want to dig up some of the spent okra plants and then do a final big tomato harvest before I rip out the tomato plants.
The pepper plants are flowering and producing a late harvest. I have so many freeze dried peppers already.
The lemon tree is bearing heavily, and some limbs are overloaded, so I'm picking and eating greenish lemons.
They get sweeter when they're ripe but they're still good.
