I've been feeling a little off lately, and had some blood tests done, and all the results (glucose and cholesterol levels) are fine.

I'm relieved, but plan to continue my health kick:

1) Drink lots of water.

2) Ride my bike more often, ideally every day for a half hour or more.

3) Continue a low carb diet with no sugar, bread, pasta.

4) Drink red wine, instead of beer or distilled spirits.

This should all result in some weight loss, but I don't want to get too skinny. I don't think I look good with a BMI of less than 25.

BMI's almost discarded as a useful measurement. It was in the papers Thursday. BMI doesn't account for skeletal proportions or individual frame variations. The one to trust is calipers at the gym.

Actually, I believe that BMI is a fair guide to healthy body weight, but I don't like the skinny look on myself. I'll get down to a BMI of 25 and still look OK and feel strong, but anything below a 25 and I'll start looking and feeling wispy, like the vegetarian guys that wear braided hemp belts and smell of patchouli oil.
