Antiquities expert says Tutankhamun was not black

Anybody who's ever studied ancient Egypt already knows this. Apparently there are African-Americans with a political agenda who remain convinced that "the man" is hiding the truth. There were African Pharaohs at one point in the Sudan, but we've always known what the Egyptians look like.

In general, I'm getting sick of hearing historic revisionist claims made by fascist screwheads like Iran's Ahmadinejad at Columbia University. There was a Holocaust, and Islamic terrorists did murder innocent Ameicans on 911.

Ahmadinejad knows darn well the Holocaust is real. Iran was heavy-duty involved in WWII and a major conference was held in Tehran, among other things. Persia also has a rich Jewish history, Queen Esther was Persian might I point out. Similarly, he knows 9/11 was no inside job. He spouts that stuff for tactical effect. It is red meat for chuckleheads. He is playing to the cheap seats.

Re: Egyptians, anyone who's been there knows the claims about "black Egypt" are absolute crap, no responsible person talks like that, it is the same kind of moron appeal politics. But there was a Nubian civilization in what's now Sudan that did some pretty cool shit. They ought to talk more about that. The Nubian art has people with visibly African (negroid) features and is often quite sophisticated. The ancient Egyptians were pretty much ethnically close to modern ones, except a little fairer in some cases because of the Phoenician influence. This may be why the Nefirtiri bust shows a pretty fair-skinned girl.
