Ugh

I dropped a pair of super sharp garden shears point down on my foot this morning and got a nasty stabby cut. I came inside and stopped the bleeding with pressure, but initially, I was a little freaked out because I couldn't tell how bad a cut it was. It was a comfort to have a first aid kit handy with antiseptic wipes and big bandages. Most of the trauma is psychological, I could feel myself getting lightheaded and clammy before I stopped the bleeding and dressed the wound.

Ugh, Ugh....two hours later and I just noticed it's still seeping and leaking. I'm going to dress it again and spend some time lying down so it closes up. I essentially got stabbed in the heel, but it only a flesh wound.

You know, crazy glue is pretty good. Anytime I get a cut onf my foot, or fingers, I rely on the glue because inevitably the cut splits from use, and it's the only thing i've found that stops that. The relief in pain alone is worth it.

I heard that used in emergency medicine, but for a deep wound it might make cleaning it difficult. I wonder if there is some physical benefit in just dressing a moderate wound and letting it ooze for a day. A doctor might have put in a few stitches and given me antibiotics, but I think it's OK now, red around the edges, but not swelling or painful. My lesson for the future is to be more careful with sharp objects, and also locate some antibiotics for the emergency kit.
