I had a rainy Sunday, and rebuilt a garage sale floor lamp. I thought the green patina was fake, but the magnet test tells me it's brass or bronze, not wrought iron. I'll find another shade for it eventually, but I'm happy with it, and like the fact that I didn't need to buy any parts, I was able to find everything in my accumulation.
In this photo, you can also get a better idea of what the walls look like. It's a color washing technique that takes forever, and involves rubbing two topcoat colors into a base color. It gives texture to the wall, and is something like a Venetian plaster effect.
The next challenge is to fix the washing machine. I think it just needs a new belt.
