Art Without Borders

I'm framing 11 prints of watercolors by Floyd Hildebrand, which my dad collected in the 1960's. After the first 4, I just realized that I don't like the conventional look of them in big frames, with white borders.
I checked the internets, and these prints don't have any real commercial value, so I'm going to cut them down and mount them in frames just big enough for the art image, without any border. For me, they have more impact that way, and the color and design really pops. I still have the wall paint, and could paint the frames in those colors, which might draw out the color of the prints even more.
