This morning, I fixed up a moderately fast PC and traded it for a moderately new water softener and another reverse osmosis water filter. I have well water here, so a water softener and filter are a good idea.
The PC literally gave me a headache, because I was fighting the installed software, and trying to understand the constant glitches. I ran a diagnostic that reported all the hardware was fine, but when I finally replaced the memory chips, the problems disappeared.
I haven't tested the water softener, but found an online manual. Installing it might be beyond my rudimentary plumbing skills. I'm not sure where to tie into house's main water supply line. I'll have to crawl under the house and try to figure that out. I'll also need a drain, but there's one under the water heater. As for the second filter, I may just try to add a second tank to my existing setup. For me, one filter is enough, but more storage capacity is attractive.
