Days When The Rains Came.

I feel good this morning, even after lots of physical work. The rain is back, and the news is about potential flooding up north, where the heaviest rain has fallen. The local creek was high yesterday, but it was a controlled release. Some miles to the east there is a dam, and you have to trust that those dam people know their stuff. A low farm field lies to the east, and that would fill up first. Historically, the "main" road, a block to the east, remains dry, even in the worst floods, so my house is in the safest possible spot, in the center of where the first settlers built in the 1830's. I was finding artifacts (including flat terra cotta tiles and bones) as I was digging trenches yesterday. This spot is an archeologist's dream.
