It's Warming Up

The Stewart avocado has just begun flowering. It's within inches of topping the fence, and looks really vital. The Zutano is not doing nearly so well. The lavender I planted nearby is flowering and attracting lots of bees, so with luck, I'll get a strong avocado pollination this year, and maybe my first fruit. The lemon tree has thousands of sweet smelling blossoms, and is alive with pollinating bees. I hope a big crop of lemons will result.
The beans are up, and soon it will be time to thin them out and mulch them. The onions are hinting that their tops are ready to go down, which means it won't be long until harvest. Once I dig them up, I plan to dry them outside on a plastic screen, and then braid the tops together and hang them inside. The yellow onions should keep longer than the red ones, and if they start to go bad, I can always dehydrate and freeze them.
