The Zutano avocado was wilting late this afternoon. We finally had a warm sunny day, and it could be that the new foilage is not ready for so much sun. I watered and fertilized it, and now, at sunset, it looks fine. The other avocado tree, a Stewart, isn't nearly so delicate.

The beans should flower very soon, and I have lots of little green tomatoes forming. About half of the onion tops have fallen over, so I won't water them any more. You want low moisture in the bulbs for optimum storage.

I've never grown avocado but it seems odd that you'd fertilise a wilting plant. I'd just water it. Still, I'm glad it perked up.

You're right. I may put up some burlap and try to shade the plant from the afternoon sun.
