I'm half done the cleanup after the epic Nopales collapse. My hands and lower arms are full of tiny cactus spines, which I am somewhat immune to. I might finish tonight, if it's cool and I feel better.

Tomorrow, I'm going in to have a proto-melanoma removed from my forehead, and afterward I'll come home and read, and just take it easy. The initial biopsy was a nasty experience, with post surgical bleeding, and this next "flap procedure" will be more invasive, but they tell me there will be no scar.

It was 101 degrees yesterday, but the weather should be progressively cooler, starting today.

Good luck!

Did you put the cactus in the compost bin?

Thanks. They're going to give me just a local anesthetic, but after I get home, I'll have to be careful and stay quiet. I thought the better of composting the cactus, because it would probably take years to degrade. What I have are hundreds of big, thorny, water laden paddles.
