Clear Borders
Jul. 15th, 2011 06:10 pmMy biopsy indicates that all the malignant cells were removed on July 8th. I had melanoma "in situ" which is classified as stage 0, the earliest form. I'm still uncomfortable with this oozing sutured wound, but I'm lucky, and this news has lifted my spirits. Twenty years ago, I had a malignant melanoma on my arm, and had that removed quickly as well. The doctor told me about his recent patient that had finally come in after waiting years. This man had even bandaged his face as the tumor grew large and unsightly. Who knows if they can cut it out at this point, and if they can, he may lose an eye, and a lot of his face. Horrible, horrible, and now I'm spared all that nastiness. I'll even be handsome again, given a little time.

I will get checked for cancer now each year for life. Fuck if I know what that means. I'm sorry you have to deal with being cut up and that blows, but it's because you stepped in and took charge of it, that I hope you don't dwell on that waiting for years crap. I noticed they tell scare stories like that, keep you vigilant I suppose. Handsome's a verb. I hate health anything, such as you have to think about it besides getting exercise and eating vegetables dark chocolate all that crap. I am sick of uncertainty. Sic. I'm not sure any more of it they give you is real. You know what certainty is now? -- effing investment vehicle. People hold onto it hoping it will go up in value. That is crap, speculators are pussies, give certainty and be worth something, decide you will make it real in the world.
