My biopsy indicates that all the malignant cells were removed on July 8th. I had melanoma "in situ" which is classified as stage 0, the earliest form. I'm still uncomfortable with this oozing sutured wound, but I'm lucky, and this news has lifted my spirits. Twenty years ago, I had a malignant melanoma on my arm, and had that removed quickly as well. The doctor told me about his recent patient that had  finally come in after waiting years. This man had even bandaged his face as the tumor grew large and unsightly. Who knows if they can cut it out at this point, and if they can, he may lose an eye, and a lot of his face. Horrible, horrible, and now I'm spared all that nastiness. I'll even be handsome again, given a little time.

This guy with the advanced cancer was described as coming in a week ago. I'm pretty up on what it looks like, so I'll just have to continue watching for it. They tell me I did have melanoma again, but it was "in situ" and not quickly spreading, which was confirmed by the biopsy. So now, I'm completely clear. The experience does make you face your mortality, and I'm happy for the chance to stick around a little longer. I have miles to go before I sleep.

I see the stars on the water in the sun and all the sky curving away like a sea at night. I like seeing that. Limits piss me off.
