Lemons are in full season, so this year I'm going to preserve some in salt, following a Moroccan recipe, and also make lemon marmalade, which uses sugar and the familiar western canning process.
It's lemon season, and I'm coming up with ways to preserve them. These are Meyer lemons, which are rounder and sweeter than a conventional lemon. Some say it's a cross between lemon and mandarin orange. I planted two avocado trees last year, but no fruit yet, maybe next year.
Man. Fresh fruit and vegetables like that, you'll probably outlive us all. I wonder if they sell Meyer lemons around here, that's new to me -- interesting.
